A ledger, not a wallet

Four steps cover almost everything the platform does. The discipline is in the third one.

  1. 01

    Record what happened

An expense, an income, a contribution, a repayment. Personal or inside a group. Every entry carries who, how much, when, and what for.

  2. 02

    Split or schedule it

Split an expense equally, by exact amount, by percentage, or exclude someone. Or set a contribution schedule with amounts and due dates.

  3. 03

    Claim and confirm

The member marks what they paid. An admin confirms receipt. Only then is it Paid. Anyone can raise a dispute in between.

  4. 04

    Settle up

Balances net down to who owes whom. Settlements are recorded explicitly, so a closed balance stays closed.

The boundary

What KeptPact does not do

Being clear about this is the point, not a limitation we're apologising for.

  • It does not hold, store or custody your money.
  • It does not transfer money between people.
  • It does not process payments or act as a wallet or bank.
  • It does not hold assets bought through a group scheme.
  • It does not lend money or set your interest rates.

You and your group settle up however you already do. What the platform does is make sure everyone agrees on what was owed, what was paid, and what is left.
